A towing tale that’s too bad to be true? Just as our camera started rolling, a security officer approached. They tried to keep us out, but they can’t keep us from telling this story. Manny Vargas is one of among 70 people whose cars were towed over a two-week period in late August during a re-paving project at Vistana at Rhodes Ranch. Though some of the cars may have been improperly parked, the issue here is where the cars were taken, how much residents were charged and what they had to do to get their cars back.
On Aug. 15, Manny visited his girlfriend Rio, “I come normally like I always do.” He parked in a designated visitor spot. He’s done this for the past two years. On that evening, “Obviously there were some sections of the complex that were blocked off because of the paving.” But not the section where he parked.
