South Carolina: Myrtle Beach based Realtors looking for input on HOAs

At last there is someplace where homeowners can go for answers in disputes with their homeowners associations.  The Coastal Carolinas Association of Realtors, which is based in Myrtle Beach, has put a form online where owners can record instances where they believe their HOA has violated their rights.

To get to it, go to ccarsc.org, put your cursor on the legislative column in the list at the top of the page and then click on “HOA Feedback Form.”

The association says on the form that it and SC Realtors, the state association, will review the submissions to determine the best course of action to remedy each situation.

The issue of HOAs that owners say run roughshod over them has grown so substantially in Horry County this year that the county’s legislative delegation has indicated it will introduce a bill to address some of the major concerns. Read more
