The former treasurer of the McEver Woods Homeowners Association in north Cobb is facing felony theft charges despite having repaid the almost $44,000 he is accused of stealing. Police say Jim Unites Goshay Jr. embezzled $43,916 from the HOA, spending the money on hotels, a banquet hall rental and new tires for his vehicle. He’s accused of writing checks to himself and making ATM withdrawals just seven days after he became treasurer in February. The neighborhood has an Acworth address but considers itself part of Kennesaw, according to the HOA’s website. The community is near Kennworth Park.  Read more:
